Summary page: Cast in the Mould

Each recognised the darkness in the other. It drew them together, but it was also what drove them apart. In the end, are they just too damaged by their pasts to do anything but keep on hurting each other?

This is a series of stories starting with Snape's childhood and ending post-war. The stories are connected but different in style, point of view etc. They are pretty much in keeping with canon up until the end of DH, when I let them both survive. The last episode is DH AU, not complete but will be linked here when done (expected to be late June at this rate).

Pairings: Lupin/ Snape, Lupin/ Tonks, reference to others.
Word count: about 18,000 so far
Warnings: these differ for the chapters but a couple of the fics are quite dark, especially the first. *Angst. Anal sex. Canon character death. Child abuse. Illness. Reference to torture. But I do give them a happy ending in part 5, promise.* (highlight to view)
Rating: PG to R or NC-17?
Notes: Originally based on a prompt from Smirkingcat for the Shores of Angst, but it got too long and complicated for me to complete. "They always had a thing for each other- a deep want, need- but every time the tried, life interfered. Have they missed their final chance?"
Disclaimer: this is a work of fan fiction. All recognisable characters belong to JK Rowling, as does some of the dialogue in part 4 which is taken directly from HBP. I make no profit from this etc.
